I’m a motion designer from Tokyo, based in LA.
When I became a motion designer, my interest was to capture and crystalize the beauty of invisible ideas into form.
Learning music when I was young helped fill my imagination with possibilities. Recently, translating the beauty of an invisible idea took on a whole new meaning in motion design. I realized that inspiration can come from things that are not simply visible, but can be felt as well: the fragile chords of a piano, the energy of improvisation from a jazz musician, a sentence from a poem or the quiet atmosphere of a museum. From grandeur concepts of a film to complex strategies of a brand, I believe that what makes things unique and interesting is not what we can easily see or understand, but what we perceive in deeper levels.
I’m Kono, designer & animator at Midnight Sherpa.
